Dell S5840cdn multifunction laser printer is built for high-volume printing needs in a small office or workgroup, or medium-job printing in a medium-sized office. The S5840cdn measures 18.7 by 19.7 by 16.4 inches (HWD), large enough to require its own desk or bench. It weighs 82 pounds, so at least two people should move it into place. On the left side of the printer's top front edge is the 4.3-inch color touch screen, alphanumeric keypad, and buttons including Home, Delete, Cancel, and the on/off button. To the right of these controls is a port for a USB thumb drive, from which you can print.
The Dell S5840cdn has a 550-sheet main tray plus a 100-sheet multi-feeder for a total standard paper capacity of 650 sheets. It comes with an automatic duplexer to print on both sides of a sheet of paper, and as with many of today's laser printers, duplex printing is enabled by default.
The Dell S5840cdn is compatible with the Dell Document Hub app (for iOS and Android) and Google Cloud Print, and is AirPrint and Mopria certified for printing from iOS and Android devices, respectively. I tested the S5840cdn over an Ethernet connection. The printer has a good set of drivers, including PCL 5 and PostScript emulation. The PostScript driver is the only one installed by default.
